I have sharp pains on my left side.. any answers as to what is happening to me?
I have this sharp pain on my left side, under my rib cage, in my lungs. It hurts to breathe, sneeze, cough, laugh, even bending over hurts. It kills, and I would really like to know. I looked it up on the internet and it said that I might have a collapsed lung, or I might have to get my livers, pancreas, or my gall bladder checked out. Any help?!
That does sound like a collapsed lung. That is rush to the hospital serious. A collapsed lung can kill you. I had one I know. Please go to the hospital. Liver and gall bladder are on the right side. Spontaneous collapsed lung is more common in tall thin people. Medically called a Pneumo-thorax. EDIT- Thanks for the contact add but you should be heading for a hospital. Please message me I would like to know what happens to you.

what causes a sharp pain on the left side on the rib cage?
first off im doing P90X into week 10 now and have noticed that the last few days ive had a sharp pain in my left side on my rib cage more towards the front ive hurts more when i breathe deep laugh cough ect… i don’t know what could be causing it never experienced this before when working out or anything before
Yeah, probably just muscle pain. I have rib pains like once a week from crossfit and just being a dude
That could mean that you have pancreatitis which is an inflammation of the pancreas, or it could just mean you’re just hungry. I would ask an expert just to be safe.
Why does it hurt to breath?
This has been going on for two days. I’ve had alot of pain on the left side under my rib cage each time i breath. It hurts to sit up, talk, laugh, breath, etc. Also i’ve had a sore throat for 3 days and yesterday i had a temperature of 100.1 but its down to around 97-98 degrees. Why does it hurt each time i breath?
sounds A LOT like mononucleosis. This is a highly contagious infection from a virus that is very common. Go to the hospital and get supportive treatment. Chances are you have and enlarged spleen and that is what is causing painful breathing. This is not serious, but can be if you don’t get it taken care of.
I have a pain on the bottom of/right under my left ribcage, should I be concerned?
On the left side either at the very bottom or right under my rib cage I keep getting this horribly sharp pain when I laugh, cough, or lie down/put pressure on that side. I haven’t done anything so that one could be broken… And I’m not even sure if it’s the ribs at all. The only thing I can think of is I’ve had a bad cough for about 2 weeks… Should I be worried?
How painful is a rib cage tattoo compared to a wrist tattoo?
I have the word “truth” on my left wrist. The pain wasn’t too bad. It was bearable. I want to get a feather on my rib cage, but I don’t know about the pain. Thanks for the help!

Aside from x-ray’s, what are they symptoms of a broken or fractured rib?
I fell while taking my dog for a walk. I landed face down on pavement. The first pain I felt was in my left rib cage. Now, I feel pain when I take a deep breath, twist my upper body, cough, sneeze, laugh..etc.
I don’t have any bruising on the skin in that area. It also hurts when I press that area.
Stop pressing the area first off, as you may cause further injury to the surrounding tissue.
A cracked rib doesn’t always come with a bruise and your symptoms all match up-painful breathing, painful movements, ect. The best treatment for cracked ribs is essentially rest and relaxation. A cracked rib will heal naturally on its own over a course of approximately 6 mo. providing that you don’t perform activities that would put your ribs or lungs in a jeopardising position. Taking a long deep breath every hour during these months will accelerate healing and assist in preventing pneumonia, although it may be quite painful to do so.
If I were you, still, I would go to see your GP, because depending on the location and severity of the damage there are some very serious risks involved. I am not trying to scare you, and you shouldn’t need to be worried as long as you take appropriate care, however, so much as a fracture in some extreme cases has been known to puncture the aorta, heart, and lungs, and the ends of a break can cause injury to the internal organs such as the liver, kidney and spleen. Your doctor will be able to feel where the rib is and to assess the damage, which could in any case of injury, be potentially life-saving.
What does pain under right rib cage mean?
Ive had this strong pain under my right rib cage. Kinda like a strong cramp and It hurts to move or breathe sometimes. The only way i dont feel it is while im pressing on it. It goes away for a little then comes back, I havent been able to eat well cause everything I eat I feel like or throw it up. Any help ??
Last year I went to my dr for a pain very similar to yours. It was on my left side, and it felt like it was under my ribs. Actually, it ended up being the intercostal muscle of the ribs. Everyone has these muscles in between each rib. It can begin to spasm causing the pain due to excessive exercising, coughing, laughing, or anything that uses these muscles. He put me on a muscle relaxer to relax the muscle and taught me a breathing exercise which made the pain go away instantly. Take a deep breath, hold it in, and while you’re holding it in, push your stomach out and count to ten while doing this. Repeat two more times. It helped stretch the muscle out and the pain went away!
I would check with your dr to make sure it is nothing serious though.

What would be the reason for upper central abdominal pain?
Sunday I was running pretty fast and fell and tumbled/rolled pretty hard on the ground. My left lower rib area is sore, especially when I take a deep breath, cough, or laugh. And today (tuesday) when I woke my upper abdominal region right below my rib cage is really sore anytime I move. What could be causing these pains. I’m pretty sure that I bruised my ribs but I’m not sure whats causing the abdominal soreness.
you should see your doctor and make sure your rib did not puncture anything important or to make sure that you did not break your rib
