  1. Is it normal to have limited mobility of my shoulder months after a dislocation?
I’m suppose to go to a doctor Monday to get it looked at, but I’m not entirely sure surgery will fix it. One told me I have a ‘Bankart lesion’. Will surgery fix the problem of me not being able to put my hand behind my back, or put my arm all the way up, and the pains I get if I over-use my right arm to lift or pull things? The sharp throbbing pain in my shoulder at times is unbearable.

    • I hope it goes well for you. Sounds like the only thing to do. Good luck.

  2. Weird pain my my shoulder what can it be?
I think I may have slept the wrong way or something because I woke up last week with this dull pain in my shoulder/back. It hurts when I lift my arm to the side and it hurts when my arm just hangs down. When I put my arm behind my head though, it goes away. What can this be? Thx.

    • I have had this before!

I went to the doctor about it and he said I had pulled a muscle due to twisting a certain way! I didn’t think this was the case as I had pulled a muscle before, and it didn’t feel like that, but despite this he told me that was what it was and that it would go away.

It took about 3 weeks for my pain to subside.

Hope this helps, and I hope you get rid of it! If it’s the same as what I did, it’s such a horrible and unusual feeling!
      :)

  3. my shoulder hurts when i try anything that requires me putting it behind my body?
i still have strength in it i can do push ups just cant throw a ball it hurts when i grab for my wallet or when i put my arm behind my body weather its above my head or below it i just cant do it with out pain the pain is mostly in back of shoulder but some times the side and front can anyone help?

    • You are talking about a lot of muscle groups there so I’m not sure if I am going to get this on the first one, but if you contact me later I will try to get you the right one. It is a muscle that is having trouble.
While seated put your other arm over that shoulder as far as it will go and place your fingers on the muscle covering it and press in with your fingers. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After 30 seconds slowly do a lean the other way and downward at the same time, to make a diagonal path from where you started. When all the way down slowly pull that arm forward until it is fully extended out. Then release the pressure and hold your body like that for one minute. If you still have problems contact me and I will help.

  4. What would cause a burning pain in my left hand after a fast pace walk & jog that last for hours?
Twice now after a fast pace walk my left palm gets a burning sensation with an ache up to my elbow that lasts for hours. I do have lower back pain as well.Even though I’m sweating my hands will fill ice cold after walking approx 6 miles.

    • Pinched muscles in your neck might be the best reason. It is my best guess and I also included a release for your back to get rid of your back pain as well:
      Neck
Invert your hands and put them next to your head placing your thumbs in under your ears and you lower your head until your neck is fully extended, release the pressure but hold your head there for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the bent position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your neck but right next to your skull this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it’s level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
      Back:
      (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.

  5. What types treatment options are there for back pain and muscle spasms?
I get severe muscular neck and shoulder pain along with muscle spasms in my lower back. It’s not an everyday thing, just every few days I will be really stiff. I was taking Mobic for inflammation for my knees, but my doctor gave me the OK to stop taking that about 5 months ago. I wanted to know if there is any treatment options besides taking a daily medication or going to the chiropractor. Thanks!

  8. How do I stop back pain from trampolining?
We’re doing trampolining in PE at the moment and I’ve begun to hate it. I always get back pain afterwards and this week I’ve got a horrible pain in my upper back that has gone mostly but comes back with a vengance if I run or jump. It’s been 5 days with it and I have PE Tuesday. Any ideas on how to get rid of the pain and how to stop getting back pain in the future would be great. :)

    • That is probably a result of poor posture and/or poor tension when you are on the trampoline.

You are probably arching your back rather then standing up straight with your tummy and bum tucked in. If standing up, you put one hand on your stomach and one on your bum and try to press both hands in that should get you closer to correct posture. An exercise you might find helpful in improving your posture is to lie down on your back and try to press your spine down to the floor. You need to bounce with your back straight, without pushing out your bum or tummy. Another possible problem is if when you swing your arms you bring them down behind you, pulling your shoulders back, rather than bringing them down the sides. That is a common error which causes arching of the back which tend to lead to travel as well as potentially causing back pain.

You also need to have good body tension when trampolining. If you are rather floppy when you bounce then you will not be able to hold your back so straight but also your muscles will not protect your joints from the impact when you land and you can develop injuries caused by jarring.

Other than that you need to warm up and stretch thoroughly.

  9. How do you treat a partially dislocated shoulder?
I havent been officially diagnosed, because the doctor doesnt give me an MRI approval(canadian healthcare), but they say i have a partially dislocated shoulder and they told me to go fix it myself. How should i go about doing that? i have trouble lifiting over head, i lost all my weight and i feel depressed because of it.

    • You don’t need an MRI. They can feel its location, and you can sure as hell fee if its out of place or partially out of place. Your doctor should have put it back in place for you, not told you to do it yourself. I’ve dislocated mine so many times they are loose, most the time they come out, I just use the other arm to lift the shoulder to match it up with the joint, push gently and if any pain/numbness anything then let pressure off and manipulate it again, otherwise just line it up and punch it hard. it hurts going back in and if first time, you will have soft tissue damage for a while and should use anti-inflamatory cream and painkillers. Also try heat/cold packs.
Once I was stretching and my shoulder dislocated and my arm fell behind my head and it was stuck and I had to scream out to hubby to come and line it up and push it back in… OUCH!

      Good luck!

  10. How do you escape the arm /wrist lock behind your back that the police commonly use?
My friend did it to me and it hurts like hell once in that position how can you escape it? (When they can readily cause you extreme pain at will?) Id hate to be put in one of those by a thug and not know how to escape it would be torture!

If you know let me know thank you!

  11. I have a pain in my shoulder blade that extends up into the shoulder and neck. What can I do?
I have had this problem for about a week. The pain is severe enough that it interrupts my sleep and I have trouble turning my head to the left or the right completely. I’ve tried heat and ice and I’ve been taking Ibuprofen, but nothing is helping.

    • You must have a pinched muscle in your back and a tight one in your neck to be causing those pains. To get rid of the one for your shoulder you have to release your back muscles and for the one in your neck you have to release the neck muscles and here’s how to release them:
      Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
      Back:
      (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

  12. Shoulder pain, when arm is put behind back?
I am a pitcher. I am having shoulder pain but only when my arm is put behind my back. I am still throw and pitch if I really want too. When I put my arm behind my arm and shug my shoulder a certain way I get a pain. I dont know how serious it is. I can throw but certain times throughout the day when i move my shoulder a certain way I get a mild pain. What do you think is wrong with it? What should I do to get it better?

  13. How do you tell if you have Bursitis or rotator cup issue?
I’ve had shoulder pain and it radiates down to my elbow and sometimes it is hard to pinpoint the origin but my arm gets weak. I have full movement but I feel like it catches. It hurts when it “catches”.

    • If you have bursitis, you may notice:

A dull ache or stiffness in the area around your elbow, hip, knee, shoulder, big toe or other joints
A worsening of pain with movement or pressure
An area that feels swollen or warm to the touch
Occasional skin redness in the area of the inflamed bursa

Rotator cuff injury symptoms may include:

Pain and tenderness in your shoulder, especially when reaching overhead, reaching behind your back, lifting, pulling or sleeping on the affected side
      Shoulder weakness
Loss of shoulder range of motion
Inclination to keep your shoulder inactive
The most common symptom is pain. You may experience it when you reach up to comb your hair, bend your arm back to put on a jacket or carry something heavy. Lying on the affected shoulder also can be painful. If you have a severe injury, such as a large tear, you may experience continuous pain and muscle weakness.

      When to see a doctor
You should see your doctor if:

      You’re experiencing severe shoulder pain
You’re unable to use your arm
You have shoulder pain that’s lasted more than a week

  14. How can I get rid of a pain in my shoulder when I do bench presses?
Whenever I do bench presses, I get a sharp pain in my shoulder that strikes when I first lift the bar off of the holders, and then it strikes worse when I put the bar back on the holder, when the pressure of the bar leaves my arm. It really keeps me from doing more reps than I could.

    • sounds like you got some over training issues there the shoulders are the first thing to go on overtraining because they get worked on so many different liftin techniques. Give yourself a days rest never do chest, triceps or shoulders the same day or day after split the lifting muscle groups up to have a day off or working a different muscle group the next day. Once you rip your shoulder up your screwed. Also there are some lifting techniques that are rough on them like dips if you go lower than a 90 degree angle with your arms and behind the head tricep extentions with the dumbbells use a lighter weight and lower reps

  15. My right shoulder is lower than the other and leans forward. What do I do?
I had a weight lifting accident when doing dumbbell presses. I feel no pain at all. Its just when I put my arms behind my back my right shoulder is lower, and leans forward, my left shoulder is perfectly fine, and when I put arms down my right shoulder doesn’t look lower or leaning forward.

    • Start taking a calcium supplement/vitamins. I’ve been weightlifting for a while and your bones/joints can come under stress, the skeletal and muscular systems are intertwined; taking calcium has improved resilience and strength in my exerciese. Also, it might be an issue of form, don’t go so heavy so you can improve that because you might not be as symmetrical otherwise. All that should help, if not, I’d imagine you have an issue with the growth plate in your shoulder and should see a doctor.

  16. What would sharp pain behind eye be diagnosed as?
I occasionally and randomly get a VERY sharp and intense pain behind my left eye and also occurs when I hit my left cheekbone a certain location/way. I’m really curious as to what exactly is going on and if you can help, it would be greatly appreciate.

And I don’t know if this helps anything, but I do have an astigmatism but it is in the opposite side. And whenever I get migraines it is always on the right side.
